Flexible and Rigid

Some things bend easily — they are flexible! A rubber band stretches and bends. A piece of rope bends in any direction. A garden hose curves around corners. Other things do not bend — they are rigid! A wooden ruler does not bend. A brick wall stays straight. A glass bottle is stiff. Flexible means it can bend without breaking. Rigid means it stays in one shape.
