Evaporation — Water Goes Up!

Have you ever noticed a puddle after rain? If you come back later, the puddle is gone! Where did the water go? It went UP into the sky! When the sun heats water, the water turns from a liquid into an invisible gas called water vapor. This is called evaporation! E-vap-or-A-tion. The water floats up into the air where you cannot see it anymore. The sun is like a giant heater for all the water on Earth!
