Choosing the Right Tool
Now you have TWO powerful writing tools: lists and labels! But when should you use each one?
Use a LIST when you want to:
- Remember things (grocery shopping, packing)
- Organize ideas into groups (favorite animals, things to do)
- Plan something (party plans, weekend activities)
- Count how many of something (how many books I read this month)
Use LABELS when you want to:
- Name parts of a picture or diagram
- Teach someone about something in a drawing
- Show what things are in a scene
- Add information to a picture
Sometimes you use BOTH together! You could draw a picture of a garden and label all the flowers. Then make a list of all the flowers in your garden. Lists and labels work as a team!
