The American Flag
The American flag is a very special symbol for our country. It has beautiful red and white stripes that flow across the fabric, and in the corner, there is a blue rectangle filled with bright white stars. Can you count the stars? There are 50 stars on the flag, and each one represents one of the 50 states in our great nation! The flag also has 13 stripes, which stand for the first 13 states that joined together to form the United States of America. When we say the Pledge of Allegiance, we are showing our respect and love for our flag and everything it represents. This special pledge reminds us of our unity, the values we share, and the importance of being good citizens. Let's always remember to honor our flag and what it stands for as we learn about our community and country!
