Quality Control Plan Framework
A fabrication shop quality control plan defines who inspects, what is inspected, when inspections occur, and what acceptance criteria apply. The plan begins with incoming material verification—checking mill test reports (MTRs) against purchase orders to confirm material grade, heat number, and mechanical properties. It continues through fabrication with in-process inspection hold points—points where work cannot proceed until the inspector signs off. Final inspection before shipping includes dimensional verification, NDE completion, surface preparation, and documentation package assembly.
