Kentucky is considered low-to-moderate regulation. No assessment required, no teacher qualifications, and no portfolio submission. The main obligations are: annual notice, 170 days of instruction, covering the 8 mandated subjects, and maintaining scholarship (progress) reports on the local public school's grading schedule (kept but not submitted). The Kentucky Christian Home Education Association (KHCEA) and Kentucky Home Education Association (KHEA) provide support.
