Age-Aware Design
Koydo changes tone, pacing, and content for different learner stages — one platform, four product personalities.
Age-Aware Design is the Koydo method of running a single product as multiple staged experiences. Each stage has its own UI tone, content posture, vocabulary ceiling, and AI-tutor system prompt, while the learner profile, progress, and subscription remain unified.
All Koydo plans
The four stages
Junior covers early-elementary through upper-elementary learners and is the COPPA-aware stage. UI copy is short, visuals lead, and the AI tutor's system prompt refuses adult categories outright.
Academy covers middle-school and early high-school learners. Vocabulary and notation ceilings rise; the AI tutor begins to engage with academic complexity but still avoids adult content categories.
Graduate covers upper-high-school, college, and adult learners studying academic subjects or test-prep. The AI tutor gets full subject depth.
Professional covers the testing verticals (NCLEX, CDL, Matura at university entrance, IELTS for adult immigration, etc.). The tone is direct, the queue is exam-oriented, and the tutor is calibrated to the test.
Why one platform, not four
Households frequently have multiple learners at different stages. Splitting them across four separate products creates billing and progress fragmentation that punishes the user for having more than one child or for being a parent who is also studying. Koydo runs one subscription and one profile graph; the staged experience is a property of the profile, not of the account.
The age-aware staging is also what allows Koydo's family tiers to host multiple learners under a single Family plan and what allows institutional deployments to host a cohort with mixed ages on a single school license.
How Age-Aware Design interacts with other Koydo methods
Adaptive Practice runs the same algorithm across all stages but uses different item pools per stage. Meridian's concept network is shared across stages but the presentation layer adapts. Everyday Tutor and Deep Help receive different system prompts per stage. The stage is the controlling variable for the entire learner-facing surface.
